I’m back from Bonnaroo! I decided not to take my digital SLR with me this time, better safe than sorry. I ended up shooting two rolls of Kodak Portra 400 and it held up pretty well during morning, noon and nighttime shooting. The weather this year wasn’t bad at all compared to last year. Eighty degrees over one-hundred? I’ll take it. I used my Canon A-1 and just kept the 50mm prime on it the whole time, I wanted to keep my shooting pretty simple. I didn’t even use any filters this year. I was lucky enough to have clouds almost the whole time….much better than direct sunlight.
Our campsite was less than a ten minute walk from CenterRoo (the part of the farm where the music, vendors, etc happens. Basically, the area where you need to have a wristband to enter. You get scanned in and out each time). Last year, our walk was at least a half an hour and some people have OVER AN HOUR walk. We got very very lucky. You may also think that being directly behind the port pots would be unlucky, but when you have to pee at 6am and it’s right there and not a twenty minute walk like last year you’d be grateful too. We also got first dibs when they cleaned them too.
We went with an awesome group of people this year and the best part was no one really knew each other beforehand. Gabby is Andrew’s co-worker and her boyfriend, Liam, we’ve met twice. Brittany and Patrick are my friends from California who hadn’t met anyone yet and Chris and Scoggins only knew Andrew and I. It turned out to be a great chemistry and I couldn’t have asked to share a campsite with anyone else. These photos are for you guys!
Want to see even more awesome coverage? Check out Patrick’s Go-Pro video! It’s damn good. Plus we’re all in it!
We can’t wait to get back to the farm next year! Thanks for another great year, Bonnaroo.
After Bonnaroo, Andrew and I decided to travel even further West, about five hours, to explore Memphis. Last year we explored Nashville so it was only the next step to take in our Tennessee adventure. Graceland was high on our list of attractions so expect the next blog post to be set in the King’s own house 😉
great photos. Really like the outfits you ladies are wearing. they look so cool:)
Thank you!!!! 🙂
