Finalllllly did a shoot that wasn’t in the woods. Ha, for someone who lives in the inner city it’s a bit ironic how all of my shoots typically take place in the woods. For this one I wanted to have something completely different than what you guys are used to seeing. Becca has this awesome pink hair and putting it against the blue background of water really made it pop. I used the Pentax EZY-R with Fuji Superia 400 and the Canon A-1 with a roll of Kodak Portra 400. I’m still getting used to the Pentax so I played around with the flash settings here and there – I am really starting to love that little camera. It gets the job done but offers those tiny little imperfections you only get with film that make it unique.
So these images came out really nice, especially with using a tiny lens and automatic body. I really like the softness and the halo around the colors. If you’ve been following me awhile, you’ll know that my two favorite films are Kodak Portra and Fuji Superia. I don’t think I’ve ever done a post comparing the two together so this will make for an interesting side by side one!
To be honest, I really think that Fuji shined over Kodak in this set. Portra is awesome for people but that water really pops on the Fuji. The more I shoot on the go the more I find myself using Superia as my go-to instead of Portra. If you would have told me that a year ago I would have heard none of it. My style is changing up a whole lot and I really like experimenting with different colors. I also shot a roll of Color Implosion film that I haven’t processed yet because it still has about 11 shots left on it. I’ll be adding this to the post at a later date, probably within the next few days.
As always, here are the digital shots from our shoot:

Breathtaking
:))))
Absolutely beautiful!!!!!
Thank you!
Awesome! Beautiful model, great background, and love the addition of the flowers!
Thanks! And it helps 😉
Great comparison! I prefer the water in Superia 400 as well.
Thanks! I always switch off between the two – if I could for each frame I would!
