Hello everyone. I hope your January ended on a good note, it being the first month of 2015 and all. I don’t have much to say. I’ve been doing a lot of graduate school work and photo shoots, both journalism and corporate stuff, so that has left me little time for blogging. I wanted to stop in and give you guys a round up of what my past few assignments have been like, lots of Arts&Entertainment type of stuff as usual.

The Polar Bear Plunge was by far my most difficult assignment to date. I’ve photographed a handful of marathons, probably around ten or so, so I figured this wouldn’t be much different. It was. I really didn’t think that it would happen so quickly. There were three runs (11am, 1pm and 3pm) and each run probably lasted around six minutes if that. That met I had about three minutes to really get some good shots of people in the water since they ran in and ran right back out. Standing up to my knees in thirty degree water with my $6200 camera setup was pretty uncomfortable. The hardest part was making sure that I was able to get the names of the people in my photographs. I think I did an ok job for my first time photographing it but there are definitely improvements to be made! I had to car office this assignment too, so I was super thankful that my car is tiny enough to heat up quickly!
